BREAKING: Ripple-SEC Lawsuit Allegedly Settled – Here Are the Details
According to the latest development, Attorney James Filan claimed that the Ripple-SEC case is officially over:
“The parties have applied for a joint dismissal of the appeals. The case is closed.”
Cryptocurrency journalist Eleanor Terrett also confirmed the claim.
According to a joint waiver filed with the court, each side will bear its own costs. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced in June that the company would drop its counter-appeal, saying, “We are closing this chapter completely and focusing on what matters most: building the internet of value.”
With the parties withdrawing their appeals, Judge Analisa Torres’s mixed decision, issued in 2023, remained the final ruling in the case. According to the ruling, while the sale of hundreds of millions of dollars in XRP to institutional investors was considered illegal securities sales, the “blind bid” sales to individual investors were ruled in favor of Ripple.
